Another gorgeous day for a ride after a rough night in the Motel 6. (Is there any other kind?) We headed out 90 E., (our last day of this road!)In traffic that eased off a bit once we got out of town. We hoped it would be like yesterday but a steady stream of semi’s kept us bouncing along in the shoulder.
At our 30 mile mark we found ourselves in Bracketsville, population 1642. We stopped for a snack at the Lowe’s market. A spry 85 year old woman approached us, saying she had seen our “athletic legs“ and she wanted to cheer us on. She was a great addition to our day
On our way out of town we passed the homecoming floats for that night parade. It’s a K – 12 affair with each grade having their own float. There was a great energy among the people working on them. I think it was mostly parents..
Texas did several wardrobe changes along our 75 miles. She started flat and grassy before accessorizing with Live Oak‘s and almond trees. Towards the end she shrugged hills back up on her shoulders, and wrapped the dry West prong of the Nueces River around to finish off her ensemble.
We rolled into the Nueces RV around 330. The river is right behind the camping area and because it was 88° we all flopped in, clothes and all. It was a refreshing into a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. You sure do have some "athletic legs." Debbie
